Jacob Dike is currently studying at the University of South Florida with renowned percussionist and professor Robert McCormick. At USF, he is involved with the University's Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, recording with the McCormick Percussion Group at the Springs Theatre, as well as numerous percussion and chamber ensembles. He also works actively as a freelance percussionist/conductor/pianist for USF students, local high schools (S&E, musical theatre events), and various performances around the state.
Jacob has been teaching privately for the past 6 years and thoroughly enjoys working with students of all ages. In addition to being classically trained, he is well versed in many styles of music including jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, choral and sacred. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, reading, and the daily cup of savory coffee. He is currently a member of the Percussive Arts Society. In December 2010, Jacob performed in West Palm Beach with Idina Menzel and Orchestra, and can also be found on the McCormick Percussion Group's newly released album: Music of Gui Sook Lee.
